IAR visualSTATE requires a valid software license to be used. IAR Systems offers flexible stand-alone and networking license models for different organizational needs.
Network license
The network license is convenient and cost efficient for a team of developer. It allows you to share a pool of licenses among a group of users over a network. While there is a limit on the number of concurrent users, the number of installed copies that can occupy a license is unlimited.
The network license is managed by a license server that is included in the delivery. A complete product package is delivered for each user and new users can be added to an existing network license.
Stand-alone license
When you order a stand-alone license for a single user, you have the choice to lock the license to either of:
- A USB hardware lock (dongle) that allows you to be flexible with your work location. You can bring the dongle with you to use with any PC anywhere, and it works if the PC is without network connection. Keeping the license on a dongle also protects your license from hardware failure.
- The hardware identities within the computer such as the hard disk ID and network card ID. It is a single user license but can be used by anyone with physical access to the PC, and works also if the PC is not connected to a network.
