The EFM32 Gecko microcontroller family gives 4 times longer battery life than any other 8, 16, or 32-bit microcontroller. EFM32 MCUs have ultra low power consumption of 160 µA/MHz running applications from Flash memory and a Shutoff mode with only 20 nA current consumption. Without CPU intervention the low power peripherals that can react and respond to other peripherals, external, or internal triggers. This results in fast execution, low latency, and the longest operation time for any battery operated applications.

The products are supported by Energy Micro’s Simplicity Studio software suite. EFM32 Giant Gecko is based on the ARM Cortex-M3 core. Flash ranges from 64K to 1024K. RAM ranges from 32K to 128K. Giant Gecko integrates a TFT LCD controller and USB in addition to the world class energy friendly peripherals found on EFM32 Tiny Gecko. Giant Gecko is suited for energy concerned applications like energy, gas, water and smart metering, alarm and security systems, health and fitness applications and industrial and home automation.

EFM32 Gecko have ultralow power consumption of 180 µA/MHz while running applications from Flash memory and a Shutoff mode with only 20 nA current consumption. Without CPU intervention the low power peripherals that can react and respond to other peripherals, external, or internal triggers. This results in fast execution, low latency, and ultra long operation time for any battery
