| Dear Customer, |
Are you planning to use TCP/IP in your next embedded project? Christan Legare of Micrium describes how to improve TCP/IP performance in memory-constrained embedded applications.
NEC Electronics is one of IAR Systems very first customers. Read about how automatic code generation is now possible for their Flash MCUs.
Many IAR Embedded Workbench products are available in new enhanced versions this month. There is also a brand new product—IAR PowerPac for MSP430.
You will receive the next e-News from IAR Systems in August.
Best regards, Margareta Eriksson Hoerling Marketing Communications Manager IAR Systems |

| Achieving TCP/IP performance in embedded systems |
Often developers believe that since a communication protocol stack is called a TCP/IP stack, porting it to an embedded target provides the target with all TCP/IP functionalities and performance. This is far from true. A TCP/IP stack requires such resources as sockets and buffers to achieve its goal. These resources, however, consume RAM—a scarce resource on an embedded target. Deprived of sufficient resources, a TCP/IP stack will not work better than a RS-232 connection. Click to continue... |
