In 2008, IAR Systems has released over 25 new and improved products—development kits, IAR Embedded Workbench products for a range of different MCUs, new versions of IAR visualSTATE, RTOSes and communication stacks. It has indeed been a busy year. By the same token, we have also had the pleasure of serving thousands of new as well as old customers.
We see how the use of emerging technology will provide many great opportunities next year. Low-cost and low power wireless sensors and networks are revolutionizing areas such as industry, utility and home automation. We also believe 2009 will be the year when ARM Cortex-M3 devices roll in to the market in an even greater scale. The need for better integrated solutions “beyond tools” for software product development will continue to increase, as our customers want to include communication functionality in their products and request easy-to-use support for all communication peripherals available on new microcontroller devices. We promise to continue to bring new products as well as improvements on existing products to the market to meet these needs.
Finally, IAR Systems staff across the globe wants to extend our great appreciation for the confidence you have shown in us and our products this year.

| Version 2.21 of IAR PowerPac for ARM |
Version 2.21 of IAR PowerPac for ARM includes new board support packages for devices from Atmel, NXP and Toshiba, along with enhanced task sensitivity in the C-SPY plugin and improved TCP/IP and USB device support. Demonstration examples of the Segger emWin graphics product are also available.

The following main features have been added or upgraded:
- Possibility to exclude design regions from code generation
- Verificator enhancements
- Readable code MISRA C:2004 updates
- Comprehensive example code index
