"IAR Green Innovation Program has helped us to speed up our development in a phase where we needed it most."
Many of the most innovative advances in renewable energy and clean-tech fields over the past twenty years have been developed by small, entrepreneurial technology companies and individuals. To support and further this progress, IAR Systems has created IAR Green Innovation Program to allow engineers and scientists easier access to the world’s most powerful embedded systems development tools. By significantly enhancing development productivity, IAR Systems software helps green entrepreneurs bring their ideas from prototype to commercialization stages and provides a reliable path to high volume deployment.
IAR Embedded Workbench is a high-performance C/C++ compiler and debugger toolchain for applications based on 8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers. IAR Systems collaborates with all of the leading semiconductor vendors worldwide to ensure that our software supports more devices in more processor architectures than any other tool on the market.
IAR Visual State is a set of highly sophisticated and easy-to-use development tools for designing, testing and implementing embedded applications based on state machines.
Eligible organizations include research centers, university programs, and startups with 10 or fewer employees.
Eligible projects should be in the areas of environmental monitoring, renewable and clean energy systems, systems that optimize energy efficiency, recycling, climate related disaster recovery, or green quality of life improvements for people in developing and third world countries.
In order to be considered your organization must complete an application form which includes the following information:
Forze is a hydrogen racing team, consisting of about 70 students of the Technical University of Delft. Committed to hydrogen since 2007, the team develops hydrogen racing cars. Forze combines the spectacle of racing with innovative and durable technology. Racing without CO2, and only water as emission, Forze shows that durability is not a limitation, but a challenge.
IAR Systems sponsors Forze Hydrogen Racing Team with development tools. Read more about Forze and how they use our tools.
Local Energy Appliances, LEA, is privately founded and started developing smart technology for mini-grids in 2012. Based on innovative software technology, LEA provides solutions for rural and urban infrastructure in developing countries.
“IAR Green Innovation Program has helped us to speed up our development in a phase where we needed it most,” says Jakob Gärtner, founder and managing director of Local Energy Appliances. “IAR Embedded Workbench has an intuitive user interface and creates very efficient object code, which helps us to use the very constrained hardware resources of the platform. Integration of the first working prototype was just a matter of days, which helped us to prepare the first pilot projects very quickly.”
Ilumi has been using IAR Embedded Workbench to build the firmware for ilumi, the world's smartest light bulbs. ilumi is a Bluetooth-enabled LED light, controlled & programmed through an easy iOS or Android app that opens up a world of amazing lighting experiences. The firmware is one of the most important aspects of the technology and the easy and intuitive user interface and excellent debugging capabilities of IAR Embedded Workbench accelerated the development in terms of coding, testing and integrating hardware with mobile applications.
The Stanford Solar Car Project (SSCP) is a student-run, non-profit organization that is fueled by its members' passion for environmentally sustainable technology. IAR Embedded Workbench is used.
