Software Engineer to our Debug and Probe team

Don't miss this chance to work on improving our world-leading debugging solutions for the embedded domain and potentially become one of a handful experts in the world.

About the role

As a Software Engineer at IAR, you will be challenged daily with diverse tasks including developing new functionalities, conducting code reviews, proposing innovative solutions, and collaborating closely with your team to ensure the success of our projects. Your contributions will directly impact the performance of connected devices across various industries, including automotive, medical technology, and consumer electronics.

What sets this role apart is the unique domain you will be working in. In this role, you will develop IAR's in-house developed debug probe I-jet. You will be focusing on advanced technologies such as debug probe I-jet where you will meet technologies and concepts such as JTAG, instruction tracing, cache maintenance, hardware exceptions and much more. These are critical components in the functionality and performance of modern microprocessors. By working closely with these technologies, you will gain unparalleled insight into the inner workings of these complex systems.

In practical terms, you will be responsible for developing high-quality software. Even though the domain is very close to hardware, the absolute majority of functionality is implemented as C++ application code. You and the team are responsible for the debugger functionality in our renowned tools. You will have the opportunity to contribute to bug fixing, implement new functionalities, and ensure that the code you write is well-designed, efficient, and maintainable. Your work will involve working within a large code base and making appropriate changes, without necessarily having a complete understanding of all other parts of the code base.

At IAR, we value your growth and offer a supportive and inclusive work environment. You will have the opportunity to expand your skill set, both personally and professionally, as you work alongside talented colleagues who share your passion for software development.
