Our starter kits and included development tools simplify evaluation of Renesas R-IN32M3/M4 and EC-1 tailored for industrial networking applications.

Simplified evaluation and development of the EC-1, R-IN32M3 and R-IN32M4 with our starter kits and the included world-leading development tools.

Included in these IAR KickStart Kits are evaluation versions (size-limited or time-limited) of the high-performance C/C++ compiler and debugger toolchain IAR Embedded Workbench for Arm. The toolchain incorporates a compiler, an assembler, a linker and a debugger into one complete integrated development environment. Runtime analysis and static analysis are available through add-on products.

The Renesas EC-1 is a dedicated communication System on Chip (SoC) with a built-in EtherCAT® slave controller dedicated communication. The EC-1 simplifies the adaption of EtherCAT by allowing users to get started very quickly with development of an EtherCAT slave. The EC-1 is intended for high-speed, high-precision control of slave devices such as sensors, actuators, sensor networks, and I/O modules that require deterministic communication.

IAR KickStart Kit for EC-1

To ease development and evaluation of the EC-1, we provide the starter kit IAR KickStart Kit for Renesas EC-1. This kit contains:

  • Evaluation versions of IAR Embedded Workbench for Arm
  • Renesas EC-1 evaluation board
  • I-jet Lite debug probe with USB-micro cable and MIPI-20 cable

All related driver software and protocol stack sample program are available and downloadable from Renesas website. In addition, the following application-specific software drivers have already been validated for the kit in order to reduce development time:

  • Beckhoff’s EtherCAT slave stack code based software environment which passed an official conformance test
  • CiA402 drive profile for motor drive devices
  • ETG.5003.1 and ETG5003.0002 device profiles for semiconductor manufacturing devices
