Introduction

The following issue could happen in IAR Embedded Workbench for STM8 version 1.31 and 1.40. From version 1.41 the problem should not occur.

Discussion

When trying to debug, the file...

ST-LINK and STice Support Package.msi

...is reported missing.

Possible solution

Reinstall IAR Embedded Workbench for STM8.

Note

Near the end of the installation the package can be found in a temporary directory. On a windows 7 / 64 machine it would be something similar to

C:\Users\Dentarthurdent\AppData\Local\Temp\{DDFD1F0F-C3CB-4297-85B7-C96D1130D306}\
