Introduction

This Technical Note applies to IAR Systems products that use License Management System version 2 (LMS2), see Applied product versions.

Note: Do not try running IAR License Server Tools, version 2.xx together with version 1.xx (LMS1) on the same machine.

  • Unzip the archive on your server computer.
  • Read and follow the installation instructions in quick reference under /doc. For further reading, see more documentation under /doc

Frequent asked questions

Q. Do I need to update the clients with the same version of License Manager?
A. The simple answer is 'no'.

Q: Can I install network licenses on Linux and run EWxxx on the client?
A: Yes.

Q: Why did I get error "Invalid lock code: status code 0x96” (or 0x97) when activating my network license under Linux?
A: Root/administrative privileges are required for activating network license under Linux. You need to write:

$ sudo ./LightLicenseManager activate xxxx-xxx-xxx-xxxx or 
$ sudo ./LightLicenseManager64 activate xxxx-xxx-xxx-xxxx (for 64-bit)
