Nocom's first major contract in the United Arab Emirates: Tradevision to support operations of new cargo carrier, Connect Air of Fujairah New cargo airline, Connect Air based at Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, has selected Tradevision to provide its Airline Logistics Solutions package. This decision represents Tradevision's first major contract in the Middle East market for Internet-based airline solutions to the e-business and e-commerce companies. Connect Air has ordered the full range of Tradevision products comprising LogiMan to handle the airline's tracking and information systems, ResLink, to serve as the airline's system for reservations and space control, and PC Pro, a system for electronic communication, to be installed at the airline's offices in India, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and United Arab Emirates. The basic role of Connect Air will be to serve as a capacity provider for airline customers at destinations which they either do not serve themselves, of where extra capacity is required. Connect Air will also sell excess capacity on its own through a network of GSAs appointed in individual markets to serve local customers. Connect Air will start operations from February 25, with a fleet of three Boeing 707 freighters on a route network initially comprising Singapore, Bangalore, Delhi, Calcutta, and Lahore, served through its hub at Fujairah.
