Nocom's TradeVision wins British Midland EDI system business

Nocom's TradeVision wins British Midland EDI system business British Midland Cargo is the latest customer for TradeVision's Airline Logistics Solution, which it will use as the basis for internet-based EDI communication with customers. As British Midland is the second largest carrier in the UK, the deal gives TradeVision a firm foothold in the airline industry. Initially the order is worth approximately SEK 1.5 million annually. The integrated TradeVision solution will enable British Midland Cargo to answer agent schedule requests, accept electronic bookings via the Internet, and then offer agents fully automated track and trace feedback on their shipments. Agents will be easily able to establish whether shipments have been flown as booked, and will then be notified that cargo is available for collection. It will also accommodate British Midland's new airport to door service confirming that delivery has taken place within the promised timescales. An automatic response generator periodically sends out e-mail or fax messages to the customer. The new TradeVision systems will also provide British Midland with statistical analysis, which the airline will use to tailor services more closely to customer needs. The implementation of the systems, which operate globally in real time 24 hours every day, will coincide with British Midland's launch of services to Washington and Chicago in April and May respectively.
