Nocom makes it easier for companies to start WAP projects

Nocom makes it easier for companies to start WAP projects Nocom is opening Europe's first operator-independent test and deployment center for mobile Internet. Nocom Net, a part of Nocom AB (publ) which is listed at the Stockholm stock exchange, is opening the first test and deployment center for mobile intranet and extranet solutions, WAP Direct R & D (Research and Development). Through this WAP center, companies can develop and test solutions in an environment that is identical to the environment that customers will experience in production. Furthermore, the companies will have full access to WAP Direct's security structure and certification system. The Center will open on May 10 and will be located in Stockholm, in the middle of "Wireless Valley". "Our task is to create services that make day-to-day work easier for our customers," says Stefan Skarin, Managing Director, Nocom Net. "We have made comprehensive investments in both competence and infrastructure to offer companies business-critical applications for the mobile Internet." The WAP center offers customers contracts of three or six months in which everything is included: operations, connection, hardware and software, all for a low monthly price. Through a unique concept, Nocom Net is able to deploy solutions, including the configuration of clients' mobile telephones, in less than 48 hours. When the contract expires, the customers can choose to terminate the project or to automatically move it over to their own, full-scale production environment. WAP Direct is one of the first business concepts of its type on the market and makes it possible to easily deploy and handle advanced mobile information services. WAP Direct uses Europolitan's infrastructure to link the companies' own systems with mobile customers, regardless of mobile operator. WAP Direct is one of the safest solutions on the market and the system can be reached from all countries that support data transfer via GSM. This concept is further developed with WAP Direct R&D and companies are now easily able to start offering mobile solutions to their customers. "Now that the breakthrough for mobile Internet and WAP is upon us, it is important that developing and testing products on the current, existing basis should be simple," says Stefan Edholm, Director of Business Development at Nocom. "Through the safe infrastructure in WAP Direct , and a close cooperation with, amongst others, Nokia and Europolitan, customers can now easily test and develop WAP and SMS solutions for the European mobile market."
