Nocom sells Arete Affärssystem to CIBER

Nocom has, via TurnIT, a signed a Letter of Intent to sell the business operations of Arete Affärssystem AB to the IT consultancy company CIBER Sweden AB. Arete Affärssystem was formerly included in the TurnIT group which was acquired by Nocom earlier this year. The sale is planned to take place according to a transfer of agreed assets and liabilities (inkråmsöverlåtelse) with a guaranteed supplementary payment. Arete Affärssystem operates a consultancy within the field of among other things implementation of business systems, project management, user training, and integration solutions with SAP’s business systems. For the past couple of years, Arete Affärssystem has invested in SAP Business One, which has been a burden on the unit's results. Additional investment is required and it was decided that Arete Affärssystem would obtain better opportunities for development at CIBER. In the previous week, Arete AB and Arete Datastöd AB were sold. Arete Internet AB remains in the Nocom Group, and will be relocating to shared facilities with Nocom Drift, and is presently in the process of changing its name to Nocom Networks AB. "The evaluation and the integration of the different companies in the new Group is proceeding according to plan," commented Stefan Skarin, CEO of Nocom. "It is important for our distribution activities that the group not to be regarded as a competitor to our resellers. The sale of Arete is an important signal to suppliers and resellers that we are a distributor that does not market itself directly to end users." CIBER Sweden AB is a Stockholm-based IT consultancy company with approximately 70 employees. The group's American parent company was founded in 1974 and the group has today approximately 8,000 employees throughout the world, of which 1,300 are in Europe. CIBER Sweden AB is a leading supplier of IT services to corporate and governmental entities. The company has more than 30 years experience in business critical systems combined with a high degree of technical expertise. Through the acquisition of Arete Affärssystem, CIBER obtains 15 new employees with significant expertise within mySAP Business Suite and SAP Business One. "CIBER regards this planned acquisition as a very strategic step in our efforts to continue to build up the company's business unit for SAP services. In this unit, there already exists today a long experience with SAP consultancy services and our cost effective method to deliver comprehensive solutions," commented Ann-Catrine Appelquist, CEO of CIBER Sweden AB.
