Nocom Signs Agreement with Ericsson for Mobile Internet

Nocom Signs Agreement with Ericsson for Mobile Internet Nocom AB (publ), in collaboration with Sun Microsystems, has signed a two year agreement with Ericsson Mobile Communications. The agreement concerns licenses and services for Ericsson's portal Mobile Internet, which gives cell phone users access to Web-related services from their cell phones. In conjunction with this, Nocom Integration has received a letter of intent for consulting services in providing expertise support for the further development of Mobile Internet. Nocom will supply the actual core for Ericsson's Mobile Internet (www.mobileinternet.ericsson.com) - an advanced directory function (LDAP) for all users of the portal, regardless of Web or WAP clients. The technology is built on Sun Solaris. The agreement also covers licensing of iPlanet directory servers and support services. "We already have a large number of registered users at Mobile Internet and the number will increase rapidly as our WAP phones come out on the market. With a large number of users in sight, it is important to build the service on proven and scalable technology," says Jan Ahrenbring, Vice President Marketing and Communication, Ericsson Mobile Communications. "The investments we now see from leading players on the market for mobile Internet and WAP show that Nocom's early focus on these types of mobile platform solutions was entirely correct. That we, together with Sun Microsystems, can deliver services and products to a strategic Ericsson project is further proof of this," says Anders Jonson, Executive Officer, Nocom.
