Discussion

The editor in IAR Embedded Workbench show file names as Microsoft Windows is configured to provide them. This means that if file extensions are turned off, Windows will deliver file names in that form.

Solution

Change settings for the folder where the source files reside.

With Windows 10, select the View options page, select 'File name extensions'.
